Just another worthless blog
Bit to go here, one of these days

I have been in the UK now for 1 whole year, and loving every minute of it .. except ..
When it comes to buy clothes.
I’m a big man, no doubt about it, heathy size 46/48 (yeah, thats married life to ya), and in the US I can walk into any store and buy clothes that fit .. but here ? .. no such luck.
So far the only place I find that carries my size is the men stores “Slaters” .. and it pisses me off that one walks in and they have thousands of pants, hundreds for each size up to … 42
When you look into 46 and 48 .. and they have at most 8-10 pairs, and worst, they are always the lowest quality cheap looking crap one can buy.
What’s the problem ?, do Brits think fat people cant afford nice things ? or am I the only fat guy in the UK ?
For f’sake .. I feel I need to go visit the US in order to buy nice clothing .. and thats not saying much, since the perception of style in America is as dull as a spoon, and I’m too lazy to go on a diet

This morning I woke up to find out I had been robbed
Some scumbag broke the glass on the kitchen sliding door with a large rock and snatched my 15″ Powerbook.
Amazingly I hear nothing during the night, our bedroom is on the top floor towards the front of the house, while the kitchen is on the opposite end on the ground floor, we called the police, the came, they saw but doubt they will find anything.
I’m pissed off at myself, I got careless, and left it on the kitcheenn table, evn so the back of the house has a fence and leaads to woodlands, it’s not all that safe .. and by leaving the laptop in plain view I just created an opportunity for somebody on the prowl.
I had just paid 1000£ for it a 3-4 weeks ago.
I doubt the landlord haas insurance that will cover this .. so I just have to get used ot the fact, I am out of pocket 1k.
Not to meention the mess that all that broken glass created, at least here in the UK they have a council service that comes over and boards it up for you, Tuesday they will come back to replace the door .. very efficient, yes,, the landlord will have to pay, but it was better than me having to go chase for somebody to board the door on a Sunday morning.
Nether-less to say, my mood today is not a good one.

We have 2 main offices at Comodo, one in UK and one in US .. unfortunately we have a few people who always seem MIA in the US.
Every time I need to get a hold of Norm or Andrew they are MIA .. quite irritating.
Like today, got a server which needs to be shipped soon, trying to get the local Sysadmin to build it .. but as soon as we start talking he has to leave .. to leave where ? .. one never knows what these guys are working at.
Last month I sold a 3 server cluster which was to be shipped on a Monday, the following Wednesday I had been trying to contact Norm for over a week about the status of the servers, when i finally got him on the phone, i find that they had been given to another client who was in a hurry, leaving me stranded.
After allot of apologizing to the client, we shipped it the next day, but I let him (Norm) know this was unacceptable .. just need to make sure this doesn’t repeat with this order now ![]()

… to Manchester
Today (July 15th) we moved to manchester .. I went down to a local rent-a-van place were I got an Iveco white van to load up al our stuff, after driving the Iveco for 1/2 a mile I retuned back and asked for a different one, the steering wheel shaft was too close to the pedals, and my foot kept on getting stuck
30 minutes later and I was loading up a Fort Transit ![]()
I drove to Manchester by myself .. and the 3 hour drive would have been very pleasant, was not for a snag on M6 were it took me 1 hour to drive 500 feet.
I made it just on time to meet with the realtor and get the key .. after that I drove by the office were I dropped my computer, I made it back to Cardiff at about 1:00 AM
Then at 9:00 AM I returned the Van, packed the Multipla with the family and away we were to start a new life in Mancs

Last Friday I decided I had enough suffering form my current Specs, so I went to SpecSavers on downtown Cardiff decided to get me a new set.
The old ones were about 4 years old, and had been mangled and abused by my kids, the nose gel supports were tore off, and the plastic around the ear support was bit off on the left side .. in short, it got handled by kids ![]()
Lucky me, they had one of those two-for-one sales, so i was able to get a set of prescription shaders as well

The clear ones “Osiris” Designer Frames

The Shades “QuickSilver 5″ Designer Frames
Total cost for both sets was £197 .. including clear coating and eye examination .. not bad at all ![]()
I picked the Shades on Monday and the Clear today, it has taken quite a while to get used to them, the prescription is just a slight adjustment to the old one, but it’s different enough for me to notice .. so it will take a few days to fully adjust to it.

As everybody knows, London suffered several bombing attacks today.
I feel quite sorry for those who died, this is a tragic event that no civilized nation should see, but as I said today to a friend over AIM:
17:57:20 : thats what happens when one tries to force their believes on others
17:58:26 : this is no different than those poor civilians in the middle east that gets their lives destroyed by our arrogance
17:58:56 : we go to war, and then are surprised when the enemy arrives on our doorstep
A sad world we live in

On my travels occasionally I encounter the odd SIGN posted .. such as this one.
But today, while on the way back from visiting Stonehenge, I found two more worth of notice .. and this one I took seriously, one thing is to run over a duck or hit a cow, another is to be ran over by one of these ![]()

I found them just outside Amesbury, some place called “Avon Fort” (no, not kidding .. as in Avon)..

I just got word from the CFO today, me and Nilesh (Sales manager) are to go to the grand opening of Hosting365 in Ireland next Monday.
The nice thing is, the Irish PM will be attending also, and we will get to be introduced.
We are also on the VPI list due to some dealings we made with the host lately.
But the cool part is, one the flight is only 50 minutes long (I HATE to fly), and second, we get to go on Sunday, I’ll arrive at noon, and Nilesh a few hours after .. that gives us the better part of the afternoon and evening to take in the local scenery and pubs, then rest it out at the hotel before going to the event at noon the next day. ![]()
The only sad part is that Sunday is Father’s day, and I wont get to spend it with the family.

A couple of days ago, some officer from the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) showed up at my mother-in-law’s house in Florida looking for me.
She was not home, so he enquired about me to the neighbor, he then asked him if he knew were Imperial Drive was (it was the street I lived on in FLA, a few miles away from there), and then proceeded to go there (We got rid of that house recently, so he was going to another dead end).
I cant even guess what in the world did the DHS wanted with me, we called them, but since we don’t know the officer’s name, they could not help us (must be hard to do a search by my name … then again, 5$ an hour college dropouts wont do much ..)
I’m not going to keep calling them, or go visit the US for a while, after this other messup here, I don’t trust US intelligence anymore, and no way I am spending a few months locked up in a place like Guantanamo before they realize they fucked-up once again.

This morning I got up with a strange pain in my head .. the right side of my brain felt as if it was heavier than the right side, that was causing me to loose my balance, and tend to walk towards the right.
After some medication and a nap I woke up feeling bit better, although my head still feels bloated, and now a bit heavy towards the back of it.
And the worst part is, I haven’t gotten drunk in months … all this suffering for nothing :p
I hate feeling like this, I always fear brain aneurisms and other grey matter related problems, but it will take a lot more than a simple pain to drag me to the Doc’s office.
