Just another worthless blog
Bit to go here, one of these days

I just got approved for a Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD ELX
The car is exactly what I was looking for, it is fully loaded (even had double sunroofs).
It has 39k Miles, and it’s a 2001 Y reg.
It is now going to be fully serviced and clean, and I shall have it on Monday or Tusday (1 week or less from now)
Very excited, with the family coming over next month, I needed a larger vehicle for all of us, but mostly, i wanted something newer and more reliable than my 94 Vauxhall.
The outside is metallic grey and the inside is blue, it’s a 6 seat configuration like the example picture below

A few months ago I saw a report on a TV program called “Watchdog” on how clients complaint the NTL was terrible, some of the stories were of people trying to cancel their service and basically only finding blockades everywhere.
So when I got ready to call them today to cancel my old apartment’s service, i was a bit weary .. and did I had reason to be.
The people are Jerks .. and the biggest pain in the ass to work with .. I spend 42 minutes on hold just to have a rep tell me I had to call another department (apparently “CANCELLATIONS” was not the right dept. .. then I was on hold for another 20 minutes before another rep picked up the phone and before I could say “hi” hang it up on me … and I had to start it all over.
What is this ? not wanting to sound paranoid, but I felt like they were trying to see if I was on hold long enough I would not bother to cancel ? what kind of company can make their clients (for the next 20 minutes) be on hold for 40 minutes .. it’;s disrespectful (especially when you get a message saying wait time can be UP to 10 minutes ,… they forget the other 30)
Then when I finally (after another 40 minutes, and several minimal wage reps.) I got the right rep. .. she is trying to tell me I cant cancel because I have a 1 year contract (I know I do, but the reason I want to cancel is they cant move my service to my new place) .. so this tech goes on and on on wanting to put me on a BT line .. and all sorts of crap .. or I have to pay all of my contract.
So I told her Fine .. I’ll pay for the contract, as long as you give me EXACLY what I ordered (which I know they cant, they got no service here) .. eventually I was sent to another Rep .. which gave me no grief and just cancelled the bloody thing.
Almost 2 hours on the phone with some of the rudest, most stupid people I have ever spoken with.
I used to think BT was a bunch of twigs .. but now .. long live BT and Sky …
Geeez.

What a tragic week .. today the Pope John Paul II Died.
As a child I was raised on a setting surrounded of tradition and faith, the Catholic Church was a big part of our lives. Every since I can remember, John Paul II was the Pope .. a man we had great respect and admiration.
As the years went by, and I grew up, science gave way to faith, and I lost my believe in religion and gods .. but I always had a huge respect for the Pope .. yes, he was stubborn and his views on some issues (like contraceptives) probably do more hard than good .. but neither the less, today I weep with the catholics .. a good man has died .. should we all be so lucky if he is indeed with god.

For the past few months I have been following the story of Terri Schiavo, the poor girl lost her battle today and past away.
I completely agree with the husband on wanting her feeding tube removed, who can stand up and say they would want to live on a vegetable state, with your brain dead .. nobody.. he did what he tough he was right, and as a husband myself i full understand and support his decision (not that anybody cares what my support is).
Bu I also feel for the parents .. being a father of 3 myself .. who can ever say to a doctor to let their kids to die .. nobody .. of course one needs to get past it and see what is best .. but i still feel sorry for the parents, and for the husband as well ..
My deep condolences to the whole family..

For a while now I have been following the case of Terri Schiavo
Beeing a father myself, i can understand the parents reaction, one would simply hope for a miracle and see hope in every little thing she does.
But being a human being and a husband .. I would never want to “exist” or see my wife on that state .. I would fight to let her go in peace.
The parents unfortunately haven’t reached that state yet, or maybe the media pressure has put them into a corner were they cant get out now ..
But regardless, on this issues what sickens me is the politics of it, to see Congress and the President interfering with such personal issues, shows the real light of the kind of leaders we have in the US .. Mr Bush should be more concerned about the lives of those soldiers dying in Iraq every week because of his bad policy, than mingling in a personal affair that he has no right into.

I am actually surprised how quiet and relaxed I am today.
I am the kind of person that has an enormous hard time switching off, my mind is always on .. either work or family .. but the past 2 days .. just quiet solitude.
Kids are feeling better, business is surviving, other new business opportunities have revealed themselves, and above all, the servers have been stable.
I know I am just experiencing the calm before the storm, it’s the story of my life .. but I’ll take it ..

Today I went out and meet some new friends.
The guys/gal of the McMuc Mac User Group here in Cardiff, decided to meet for a iLife 5 keynote at the local Apple reseller, after that we went to “Toby Carvery” for a nice lunch.
It was very pleasant, everybody was nice and we had some good conversations going, the carvery was a great place also, and the food was delicious .. I just hope we get to do it again soon ![]()

Today while browsing Spymac, I saw a post .. a user was going too get 3K back in taxes .. And he was assign for advise,, should he pay his bills .. which included his current MAC, or buy himself a new MAC and screw the bills.
How did this question even come to be, are we all living in a MAD world, were it;s acceptable to ignore our bills .. have we lost any traces of shame or self respect .. what makes people think they can get away with simply .. Ignoring their obligations.
And worst, was all the brain dead .. advising him (as if a board was a place for such advise) too go for it, get a new computer.
I must admit, I been in tight spots before, most business owners will know the feeling, market fluctuates, and you find out the budget for lat month is no longer the same for this month .. but this is just regular folks .. showing the finger too the financial institutions … and honestly .. the financial institutions seem to don t care.
Why else would we be so easily inclined to spend, or worst, overspend .. because it’s made easy for uss, that’s why .. credit card companies just flood the mailboxes with offer, car vendors will even promise not to check your credit ..
We living on a cesspool .. and it’s getting stinkier by the minute,, it started in the USA and it’s spreading all over the world ..
Rules need to be made tougher,, not easier .. but no, banks and financial institucions will continue to make it easier for the retarded Joe to completely goo overboard and spend 2 years of income on a Audio/Video system, but will continue too raise hell for the poor working class honest man who wants to buy a house for his family ..
It makes me sick.
