Old Phone

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

I needed a new desk phone for my .. err, desk!, so I took a look around the usual places, Ebay, Amazon, etc.

As soon as I saw this one, I knew I had found it, it’s a Sagecom SIXTY, it has the style of an old rotary phone, but lean and digital instead, it also has a built in answering machine and it’s cordless !!.

Its the coolest thing I have seen in a long time, when you press a number, a sequence of LED’s on the wheel travel around as if it was a rotary phone doing the old rotary noise :)

It’s perfect !

New Website for OnApp

Friday, October 15th, 2010

Despite the fact the old OnApp site was just 3 1/2 months old, we where not happy with it, the outsourced company that design it did what they could, but to be blunt, it sucked.

Not that it was a bad design when you first saw it, it simply was a bad design the second time you visited it, simply put, it got old incredibly fast.

But we liked some of it’s elements and the color scheme, so now that we have an in-house web designer (plus in-house copywriter, illustrator, marketing, etc) it was time to kick the old one and introduce something new.

I’m quite proud of it, everybody worked on it, and as such it represents us quite well, we serious about out product and we serious about our clients, but we are NOT boring :)

Every time I work on a site I always love to include illustrations to depict visually what we do, back in the Relio days we used an illustration to show how it powered a unified UK and US hosting platform, this latest illustration shows OnApp as a machine that creates cloud (all done by our in-house staff BTW) … well, thats exactly what it is :)

Nice to be noticed

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Cloud Hosting is the new “IT”, everybody is running to make sure they deploy a Cloud solution ASAP, now VPS.NET has deployed it’s cloud Last April 1st, and since then we went through the growing pains and have done allot of work to make it a stable product.

So as expected, people took notice, so much so than in their path to Cloud nirvana they are watching our own site very closely, I have posted in the past some examples of others using our “Node Slider”, but seems even our FAQ is up for grabs .. ;)

Thats the upcoming VPSHIVE Cloud FAQ filler pages, yeah, i’d sure it’s just filler for now and will be changed before going LIVE, but it’s nice to see we are inspiring others, and I mean it in a good way.

VPS.NET Robot Sig

Sunday, October 11th, 2009

Just for fun I did a new sig image this morning for the VPS.NET forums, I was using sketchbook and wanted something a bit crude, that looked like it was really hand drawn and painted.

Since it was to be very small, the details had to be exaggerated

I think I got it :p

Tired

I had a brainstorm yesterday with D regarding a new offering we are planning, we had agreed on it, but do you know when the back of your brain simply wont rest about it, there is something on it that you feel just wont work ?

So I found mysef up at 4:00 AM working on the idea again, ended up leaving for the office at 5:30 AM and by 9:00 AM I had a new plan that was rock solid .. hurray right ?

No !!, now it’s 6:00 PM and I feel like crap :p ..
